What's in my Travel Make-Up Bag?

I'll be honest, my travel make-up bag is not a whole lot different from my regular make-up bag but that is purely because I am a terrible packer. I'm not one of those people who can plan ahead effectively enough to pack lightly, decanting into those clear plastic bottle sets you can get in Boots. Rather, my usual MO tends to be realising at around midnight the night before I'm due to go anywhere that I have as of yet to pack, and so a frenzy of throwing random bottles and pots of things that are in my direct line of vision into a bag begins. If you don't believe me, read this post on what I forgot to bring on honeymoon with me. That aside, I have been making a more valiant effort of late to be more organised when packing, especially with beauty products and so I've started using this lovely Paul & Joe make-up bag.

Divided into sections using a ringbinder (stationery fanatics will appreciate this one), it's very handy, as you can store things according to size, their use (eyes, lips etc) and there are spaces specifically for brushes. Score.

This is what's currently making it into the travel make-up bag:

Various Real Techniques brushes
Clarins Beauty Flash balm which I'm using as a primer.
Mac Lipstick in Rebel (review HERE)
YSL Tierre Saharienne Collector edition Bronzing powder (review HERE)
Mac Pearlfusion Greenluxe palette (review HERE)
YSL Babydoll mascara (review HERE)
Clinique Chubby Stick in Chunky Cherry (review HERE)
Topshop cream blush in Head Over Heels (review HERE)
Dainty Doll blush in 003, Money Talks (I use it as a contour)
Mac Mineralise Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle (I use it as a highlighter)
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation
Rimmel eyebrow pencil in Hazel
Rimmel Glam'eyes liquid liner in black.
I forgot to include my beloved Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer as it was in my handbag at the time but you can see a full review of that HERE.

Surprisingly, all of that fits nicely into my Paul & Joe bag and makes for easy travels!

  2. That travel bag looks so cool, looks like it fits loads of stuff. MAC Soft & Gentle is one of my all time favourite highlighters, it's just so pretty on the skin!

    1. It's lovely, isn't it? I don't like highlighters that are too "in your face" so this seems pretty perfect. x

    1. Urban Outfitters, it was a while ago. Asos stock Paul & Joe too and had the same one in a different pattern recently but it's now out of stock. Boo. Worth keeping an eye out for it in case it comes back though! x

  7. It's so neat and tidy and organised! Gorgeous. Just read your honeymoon post - I think weddings completely mess with your head! With my wedding dress, I didn't need to wear a bra because there was one built in. Did I remember to pack a bra? Course not. 'twas fun leaving the next day, that's for sure.
