Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Abstraction

Driven to distraction (cause I'm not really sure one can be driven to Abstraction, am I right?) so I was when I spotted this beauty.
I've previously blogged about Illusoire and Emerveille so my love for this little pot of cream shadow is well documented. The formula in these are just so great- long lasting, easy to apply and relatively crease-free.

(yes, I did cherish carrying this bag home)
(the unbridled joy of opening Chanel packaging)

                                                 (worlds cutest brush)

The brand describe these as: "long wear, luminous powder-cream..can be used to create an extreme, stylised look or simply to caress the eyes with a veil of mother-of-pearl".
God knows I do enjoy an auld eye caress with mother-of-pearl. Seriously though, this is a beautiful shade, a lovely pinky/rose/gold, which is just so flattering on blue eyes. I find it quite subtle when used on its own with a nice flick of black eyeliner and plenty of mascara. For night-time I tend to layer it up a bit and that works equally as well. Just look at it there:

Lovely.
And swatches (for some reason I just could not get a good photo of this, even on my actual eyelids! If I do I'll add it in at a later date, promise):

I'm considering getting this in Vision as well- a super bright gold which is just stunning but I can't really justify buying MORE make up right now (clearly I'm fooling no one here but lets all just pretend otherwise).

  5. Oh so pretty! Vision is ok but it's super sheer - best over other shadows, unlike the other Illusion d'Ombre's I've tried. I have my eye on Epatant next...

    1. Oh really? I may avoid that so. I'm still loving Illusoire, such a great colour. Im kind of after this gold Laura mercier baked shadow anyway so I may get that instead! Xx
