Dior Diorific 'Le Grand Bal' Lipstick & Nail Vernis

Check out these beauties- Dior's Limited edition Christmas collection lipstick and nail lacquer in such beautiful, vintage inspired packaging.

I have both the lipstick and polish in the shade 'Marilyn', a perfect true red. The lipstick packaging is gold, classic and unique. On application, it's just SO smooth- a creamy matte formula that's really easy to put on- I don't use lip liners (pure laziness) so this is ideal for me.

It's actually a bright enough red but I think it would suit most skin tones as it's such a classic shade. It's described as long wearing but doesn't dry out the lips like some long lasting lipsticks.

To compliment the lipsticks in the range, Dior also brought out 4 limited edition nail lacquers, again in vintage style bottles, almost designed to look like the lid is a little gold stopper in the glass bottle.

These are just so beautiful- perfect for any dressing table, they just scream old Hollywood glamour and personally I think they're a much more fitting tribute to the legend that was Marilyn Monroe than the range MAC had out recently. So it's top marks on the packaging front but obviously you'll want to know about the product itself. The polish is excellent quality- one layer and it's practically opaque. Two coats and it's perfect. It dries quickly and looks really glossy.

Basically I love them both. These were special editions as part of Dior's Grand Bal Christmas collection so if you want them, you'll have to act fast. I just checked House of Fraser's website and Marilyn is sold out in the polish but not the lipstick so it's worth checking out other larger department stores for both of them.
I will have swatch of the lipstick up soon, I'm just horribly flu ridden- I doubt anyone wants to see lipstick on me at the moment! Anyone else tried either of these little lovelies?
