This is one of those glitter polishes that you'd need about 3-4 coats of on its own to get to the colour in the bottle. I, however am lazy and so I threw on a base coat, then two coats of Zoya "Tobey", which I previously reviewed here, followed by two coats of the OPI and sealed it with a top coat of Seche Vite. Although that really doesn't make me sound lazy at all, now I read back on it. Hmm, I should stop being so self deprecating, where nails are concerned at least. Anyway, this is one of those glitter polishes (like Deborah Lippman) that because the glitter pieces are larger, requires some element of "placing" the glitter where you want it on the nail, rather than just brushing it on, as you would a regular polish, which was fine and I actually found it easier to apply then the Deborah Lippman glitters. I really expected this to chip all over the place but it's four days since I applied it and it's still going strong, with only the odd small chip here and there. Hurrah! This is it, out in the "sunshine":
I like it. It does feel slightly like I should rename myself "Candy" and start working in a Gentleman's club but that aside, they are quite fun to look at. Once again I think I may also have blinded some stall vendors at Taste, in particular the nice man who sold me my Dirty mojito:
Unfortunately, the blinding didn't prevent me from having to hand over 6 of my *technically HTB's* best Florins. Sigh. Just to say though that these nails did receive the greatest possible compliment ever- HTB said they were his favourite of all my many glittery polishes, because and I quote "they actually look like the way the glitter does in the bottle". So there you go! A man said that!! It must be true!
Oh and here's the bonus ice cream:
Custard on the bottom, then a layer of soft caramel, then a layer of chocolate gooey stuff, then toffee flavoured ice cream, with toffee popcorn on top. AMAZING. And provided by Nick Munier (of Masterchef fame) himself! Good times!
They look fab! Love the OPI glitter :) God you just can't depend on the Irish weather I had to root out my winter boots too! :(
ReplyDeleteI know, winter boots, raincoat, a scarf and an umbrella (I fear being cold and wet so I go a little overboard with the raingear) later and then the sun pops out! Gah!
DeleteNice nail combination! OPI glitter nail polishes don't last very long on me, but I'm always too lazy to apply to apply a top coat! I'll have a look into the Seche Vite brand of top coats, as they're super popular and might work :)
ReplyDeleteThanks hun! Normally glitter polishes don't last on me at all either but this is actually still pretty much completely intact, 6 days later! Seche Vite is brilliant, it's quite strong smelling but is a really good top coat.
DeleteOh love the name and look of that polish! To be honest though, the ice cream looks even better, nom!
ReplyDeleteI won't lie- it was amazing!! Oh I wouldn't mind another one now actually.. :-)
DeleteI'm loving the nail combination, it's gorgeous :)
